AgustaWestland has signed a deal with Japan's Hiroshima Prefecture for an AW139 helicopter for use in fire fighting and disaster relief operations.
This is the 30th AW139 sold in the Japanese market, said AgustaWestland.
The helicopter will enter service in 2012. It will be equipped with a belly tank fire fighting system, a "bambi bucket" that can drop water, weather radar, searchlight, and other systems tailored to its primary missions.
AgustaWestland opened a Tokyo office in 2008 to market its helicopters in Japan.
