JetBlue Airways has reached a deal to sell two additional Airbus A320s on top of the nine aircraft it has arranged sales for this year.
Yet at the same time the buyers of two A320s have asked to push those sales into next year, said carrier CEO Dave Barger today during a call to outline the carrier's $4 million fourth quarter loss.
Of the nine aircraft the carrier has arranged to sell, six have been delivered, notes Barger. JetBlue is also leasing two Embraer 190s to Brazilian startup Azul led by former carrier CEO David Neeleman.
JetBlue was originally supposed to take delivery of 36 aircraft in 2008, but through 18 deferrals and sales has whittled that down to seven aircraft -- four E-190s and three A320s.
