Parker Aerospace has licensed Hanwha Corporation of Seoul to upgrade the engine-driven hydraulic pumps installed in the Lockheed Martin F-16 combat aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). Under an agreement signed here earlier in the week Hanwha will rework 350 pumps over five years. Originally manufactured by Parker’s Hydraulic Systems Division, the F-16 pump has been the subject of a US-funded upgrade designed to improve reliability, maintainability and working life. Starting later this year and using kits and tooling from Parker, Hanwha will bring the ROKAF’s pumps up to the latest standard.
