Korean Air has expanded its codeshare with European SkyTeam partners Air France and Alitalia, in part covering the latter's newly restored Rome-Seoul service.
The Asian carrier has been codesharing with Air France since 2002 – after restoring an earlier co-operation – and Alitalia since 2003. Now, from this month, the SkyTeam partners have widened their partnership to include new domestic and international links.
Korean will add its code to Alitalia's Rome-Seoul service, which returns to the Italian carrier's network after a 20-year absence on 4 June. Alitalia already codeshares on Korean's flights from Seoul to Rome and Milan.
It will also add its code to domestic links from Rome to Bologna, Milan and Venice, as well as Rome flights to Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Cairo, Casablanca Madrid and Munich.
Korean will also from today add its code to Air France domestic flights to Lyon and Toulouse, and to eight international routes, namely Barcelona, Berlin, Casablanca, Dusseldorf, Geneva, Madrid, Munich and Stuttgart.
