It is surprising that passengers are not only permitted, but actively encouraged to carry bottles of liquor into aircraft cabins. Bottles are lethal weapons and contain a prodigious amount of alcohol, which if consumed sometimes fuels disruptive behaviour. In accidents, bottles bursting from overhead lockers have increased injuries and the death toll. In some cases, the contents are inflammable.
