The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC) has signed a memorandum of agreement with Ayres Corporation to deliver 100 shipsets of T800 engines for the Ayres Loadmaster.

News of the $100m contract, which starts delivering engines in May 1999, was announced by LHTEC chairman Carl Baerst.

He says the market has responded extremely positively to the Ayres Loadmaster and he expects sales of the multifunctional aircraft to grow.

"Our 2,700 horsepower CTP800 engine package will give operators the power, economy, reliability, and durability to fully utilise the capabilities of the Loadmaster," he adds.
