Embraer has begun developing a long-range version of the EMB-145.

The new version of the 50-seat regional jet is expected to be launched next April.

Powered by a new Rolls-Royce Allison AE3007A1 engine with increased thrust, the long range EMB-145 features improved climb and hot-weather cruise performance.

Version

The AE3007A1 engine is also an available option for the extended-range version of the jet.

The long range EMB-145 will offer maximum take-off weight of 22,000kg (48,000lb); maximum zero fuel weight of 17,900kg (39,400lb); maximum landing weight of 19,300kg (42,500lb); fuel capacity of 4,983kg (10,900kg); range with 50 passengers of 1,600nm (2,500km).

Embraer says the aircraft offers similar acquisition and operation economies as those found in the extended range version: a high-performance jet aircraft at turboprop prices.
