German flag-carrier Lufthansa is raising winter schedule capacity by 2.4% compared with last year.
It will operate 13,402 weekly services - of which 12,278 will be short-haul - an increase of 0.9% on the figure for the winter 2007-08.
While Lufthansa says the market and competition situation have become "much more difficult", it states: "We are optimising our flight services but there will not be any massive cuts at Lufthansa during the forthcoming timetable period."
The number of long-haul flights will rise by 5.6% to 1,124.
Lufthansa's network will include 194 destinations in 79 countries and the airline is retaining all 11 destinations introduced during the summer schedule.
