Offshore aviation provider Weststar Aviation Services has signed its first international contract with Tullow Mauritania.
The deal is worth ringgit (M$) 500 million ($162 million). Tullow Mauritania is a unit of Tullow Oil.
Under the terms, Malaysia-based Weststar will provide offshore aviation services using two AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters operating out of Mauritania. The initial contract will be for a period of up to four years including an option for extension.
Operations are due to begin in August. Weststar will open a new facility in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, and recruit 23 local staff.
