A 29 March opening date has been set for Seoul's new Incheon International Airport after eight years of planning and construction - the spelling of its name has also changed. Operator Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) announced the opening date in January, putting to rest suggestions that the inauguration would be delayed. IIAC also says the facility will be redesignated as Incheon (rather than Inchon) to comply with a new Romanisation system for Korean words. KAL will operate the first flight, which will depart at 00:30.
