Russian carrier Vyborg, which operates in the St Petersburg region, has signed a deal with Tashkent-based TAPO for three Ilyushin Il-114 turboprops. The aircraft will be taken on lease via state leasing company Uzavializing, with deliveries beginning in January. Vyborg's aircraft will be powered by improved Klimov TV7-117S engines offering extended lives to 9,000h and time between overhaul of 2,500h. United Express carrier Atlantic Coast Airlines (ACA) has retired the last of its leased fleet of 28 British Aerospace Jetstream 32 turboprops. The company has chosen to return the aircraft early, taking a charge in the process. ACA plans to start retiring soon its 32 larger Jetstream 41s and will phase out the last by the end of 2003. British European has taken delivery of its first of four Bombardier Dash 8 Q400s, which will enter service later this month, initially on flights from Birmingham.
