Lebanese charter company Executive Sky is planning to set up a base in every Arabic country to exploit the growing demand for business aircraft travel within the region. The Beirut-based company leases two midsize aircraft - a Bombardier Learjet 60 operated by Austria's Majestic Airlines and a Hawker 700 flown by Sky Lounge of the Lebanon.

The aircraft are owned by individuals who want to earn revenue from their asset. "We have set up offices in Oman and in Saudi Arabia. We are keen to add large-cabin aircraft such as the Bombardier Challenger 604 and Dassault Falcon 900 to service these markets," says Executive Sky managing director Khaled Akkawi. "We have so much demand for our services that we can only fly 20% of customers on our fleet. The remainder of the flights are subchartered. We plan to grow the fleet as quickly as we can across the 17 Arabic countries and carry 70% of our customers," says Akkawi.
