Talks were under way between the unions and a Quebec government-appointed mediator as Flight International went to press in an effort to end the labour dispute that has closed Bombardier's three Montreal-area plants since 15 April. The strike is affecting the production of 50-seat and 70-seat Bombardier CRJ regional jets and Challenger business jets. The 7,500 workers, who earn an average of C$21.50 ($13.50) an hour, have been without contracts since 30 November.
