Certification OF The Gavilan 358 light utility aircraft was accomplished by mid-1998. The piston-powered aircraft first flew in 1990, with a second prototype flying in 1996. The aircraft is now in production. The launch customer is the Colombian air force which has purchased aircraft for the light utility-transport role. A medevac variant is also on offer.
