Spirit Airlines has signed a four-year airframe related components (ARC) contract for 28 Airbus A320 family aircraft, including A319, A320 and A321s, and options for additional aircraft with Lufthansa Technik.
Lufthansa Technik says it will support Spirit at its main base of operations, Fort Lauderdale airport, in addition to its thrust reverser facilities in Sun Valley, California; Hamburg, Germany and Shenzhen, China.
Starting in April 2013, a dedicated amount of thrust reverser spares in combination with a round-the-clock customer service desk will ensure maximum fleet availability at minimum cost to the airline, says the MRO provider.
In addition to the thrust reverser agreement, Lufthansa Technik also supports Spirit with an exclusive total component support contract, as well as an auxiliary power unit repair and overhaul agreement for the entire fleet, it adds.
