Big Ass Fans claims aircraft hangar owners have been blown away by its 24ft (7.3m)-diameter PowerfoilPlus fans that help keep maintenance staff cool in the height of summer.

One happy customer is the 51,000ft2 (4,740m2) Hangar 25 at Bob Hope airport in Burbank, California, which needed to find a way of circulating air over and around aircraft to provide a consistent temperature and discourage bird habitation. The solution was to install seven Big Ass PowerfoilPlus fans, powered by solar energy.

"The increased air circulation will be used year-round to create consistent, comfortable temperatures in Hangar 25," says Big Ass. "In the colder months, the fan speed is slowed to circulate heat that collects at the ceiling level," it adds.
