CMC Electronics launched its new CMA-1410 10.4in Class 2 PilotView Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) at NBAA this morning.
It is based on the Canadian electronics specialist’s CMA-1100 platform and features a 10.4in backlit LED display and readability improvements. It will be available from the first quarter of 2009.
CMC Electronics president Jean-Pierre Mortreux says it “provides further installation flexibility to larger cockpit operators and builds on our proven, industry-leading PilotView EFB family”.
The PilotView EFB consists of display/processor unit and aircraft interface unit, which are easy to install in a variety of cockpits. The new version is lightweight and self-contained, featuring a compact display processor. It has a sunlight-readable display as well as film-on-glass touchscreen and simple bezel layout to provide quick access to specific functions and applications.
CMA-1410 is powered by an Intel Centrino Mobile processor, and has dual USB 2.0 connections. The EFB stays powered during all flight phases, which according to CMC improves productivity and reduces workload
On the ground, electronic logs capture essential information and fleet management is performed in practically real time with the electronic transfer of data that was previously circulated on paper. Presently more than 23 STCs are available for the PilotView EFB on aircraft ranging from business jets to airliners.
