“Most of the aircraft here are Monday to Friday aircraft,” says Wipaire (static park) president Randy Juen.  But Wipaire is showing off two aircraft at Orlando Executive Airport, of which one is very much a “weekend airplane”, he says.

The weekday airplane is a recently serviced and painted Beechcraft King Air 350, and while the aircraft that’s suitable for the weekend is a Cessna Caravan on floats.

“We wanted to highlight the weekend plane here. You can take it for a trip to the Caribbean, or just go do some fishing by sitting on the floats,” he says. “We know the Caravan inside and out, and have a few STCs for it too,” says Juen.

Wipaire manufactures its Wipline floats for a wide array of aircraft, from Cessna 172s to Viking Air’s relaunched Twin Otter. Wipaire’s floats are all FAA-certified and TSO-approved, and Juen says his company can even supply waterscoop-equipped floats to aid firefighting. He has recently sold some of these to firefighters in Spain.

There’s more to Wipaire than floats, Juen adds. It also offers a full-service aircraft upholstery shop that can accommodate complete full leather interiors or just small repairs for aircraft, as well as traditional MRO services including avionics installation and repair.
