Bombardier has contracted Parker Aerospace to design and manufacture the hydraulic system for its new Global 7000 and 8000 business aircraft.

Parker Aerospace said that it will design and manufacture the system at its hydraulic systems division in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The company added that the hardware components consist of engine-driven pumps, VFAC-motor-driven pumps, a power transfer unit, reservoirs, accumulators, and filtration.

In addition, the company will supply ancillary equipment, including heat exchangers, various sensors, valves, and quick-disconnect couplings to the airframer.

The hydraulic system enables the functions necessary to power and control the aircraft's flight control system, landing gear and steering system, and thrust-reverser system.
