Electronic charts will be key to Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics for the Cessna Citation CJ3 and Gulfstream G150. Geo-referenced approach charts and airport maps, supplied by Jeppesen and presented on large flat-panel multifunction displays, will be options on both aircraft.

Honeywell, meanwhile, is developing its own rival Primus Epic avionics with Jeppesen. First applications will be the Epic-based PlaneView integrated cockpit for the Gulfstream G500/550 and EASy advanced flightdeck for the Dassault Falcon 2000EX, 900EX and 7X.

Pro Line 21 will feature electronic charts and graphical weather. The PowerPC-based unit with have a 2-4Gb flash drive, with growth to 16Gb.

Electronic charts will be certificated first on Collins' own Bombardier Challenger 601, and will meet Class C electronic flight bag certification requirements, with window capability to allow charts to share the display with critical information.
