Prague Ruzyne Airport operator Letiste Praha’s new CEO, Miroslav Dvorak, has made two swift appointments to the management team aimed at preparing the airport for privatisation.

Dvorak took the helm of the airport operator at the start of the month, tasked with readying and managing the airport through privatisation. He has now named two executives specifically to help with the privatisation effort.

Investment and asset management expert Petr Vlasak will act as advisor to the CEO, while Richard Chvojka has been named director of the legal department. Vlasak has been tasked with handling contact with investors, while Chovjka will be responsible for the legal aspect of privatisation negotiations and preparing the documentation for the Czech Government.

Dvorak explains: “My intention is not to impose radical changes to the top management of Prague Airport. Those areas dealing with the operation and development of the airport are managed by professionals who do so at the top European level. The arrival of new people is connected to the preparation of the privatization.

He adds: “My task is to maximise the revenue to be collected by the state. I shall subordinate the manner of the management of the company as well as the proposed way of its privatisation to this goal."

Prague Airport has long been a privatisation target for the Czech Republic and shortly after taking office last year, transport minister Ales Rebicek outlined his aim of converting the state-held operator into a joint-stock company.
