New Cambodian - A new carrier, President Airlines, has been launched in Cambodia. It operates a single Fokker F27 on four domestic routes from Phnom Penh, plus charters to Bangkok in Thailand and plans to start scheduled services to Bangkok and Singapore.

Opening up - Brunei and New Zealand have confirmed an "open-skies" air services accord that the two sides say is the most open in the world. Brunei-registered airlines can operate domestic New Zealand flights as extensions of international flights, while New Zealand-based carriers can establish operations in Brunei.

Thai fares hike - The board of Thai Airways International has agreed to increase domestic air fares by 13.5% from 1 May, subject to approval by the Thai Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Japanese team work - Japan Airlines and rival Japan Air System are to establish a joint venture to supply their domestic computer reservations system needs from October 2001.
