In the regional sector, much of the talk centred on the likely demise of Fairchild Dornier. Jean-Michel Leonard, chief executive at turboprop manufacturer ATR, sums up the general message prevailing at the show, commenting: "All the major actors have evaluated the possible takeover of Fairchild Dornier and all have come to the same conclusion. They shouldn't." Leonard predicts that demand for turboprops would be in the region of 500-600 units over the next 10 years.
