At United Airlines, an arbitration panel ruled that members of the Association of Flight Attendants were not entitled to a pay increase this year. The union, representing 26,000 workers, sought a wage increase based on the increases that United granted its pilots in a contract inked last year. The attendants' contract does not open for re-negotiation until 2006, but allows annual conferences on possible wage increases.
