The Alliant Techsystems Outrider tactical unmanned air vehicle recently completed its first autopilot flight, a critical landmark in turning around the trouble-plagued drone project. In the flight test at Hondo, Texas, the autopilot was engaged after take-off, demonstrating "-excellent navigation accuracy as it flew to four pre-programmed waypoints", says the US firm.
