Daher unveiled two contracts at the show yesterday that further cement its reputation as an advanced manufacturing partner for global airframers.
The European company, which is already a major industrial partner for Eurocopter, has been awarded the contract from by the helicopter manufacturer to develop and produce a new generation of airframes for its range of light helicopters.
"The partnership between Daher and Eurocopter will result in a new airframe that goes even further in the quest for best compromise between weight and performance," says Daher. Production is set to begin in early 2012 at Daher-Socata's plant in Tarbes, south-west France.
The company has also announced a contract to produce composite wing panels and longitudinal members for the ATR 72 turboprop using automatic drape-forming processes.
Production is scheduled to start at the end of 2010 in the Daher plant at Nantes in north-west France. This work is being transferred from the Airbus factory in the same city.
