GE Aviation and ST Aerospace are assembling tooling for customer support of the GEnx engine powering the Boeing 787 and 747-8 aircraft models.
GE debuted the GEnx engine today at the show ahead flight tests due to start in the third quarter.
ST Aerospace subsidiary STA Engines earlier this year reached a 20-year deal with GE for on-wing support and repair for GEnx customers globally. As part of the agreement ST Aero is investing in set-up capabilities for on-wing support while GE is supplying technical, training and engineering support.
GE says sales of the GEnx have reached more than 1,100.
