ALTA, the Latin and Caribbean Airline Association, confirmed two new affiliate members yesterday at the show, French powerplant giant Snecma and Superjet International, the joint venture between Alenia and Sukhoi.
"We are pleased to welcome Snecma and Superjet International to ALTA and look forward to them being integral players in our association as we continue to work towards a safer and more efficient industry," said ALTA executive director Alex de Gunten.
ALTA, which was formed in 1980 as a non-profit association, represents Latin American and Caribbean carriers. Its members have total revenue of over $21 billion, operate more than 800 aircraft and employ 70,000 workers in the region.
