European regulators have certificated Microturbo's e-APU60 auxiliary power unit for the AgustaWestland AW189.
The certification trials ended on 31 May, with seven test engines clocking up about 1,000h and 5,000 cycles in total, says the Safran subsidiary.
Entry into service of the APU is planned on the medium-heavy, twin-engined helicopter in the second half of 2013.
