VietJet Air has signed a firm order for another six Airbus A321s, adding to the Vietnamese carrier's fleet of A320 family narrowbodies.
“The A320 family has proven to be extremely efficient in service with VietJetAir," says the airline's chief executive and president Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. “Since we took delivery of our first A321 in March this year we have benefitted strongly from the additional capacity offered by the aircraft and its low operating costs. We are therefore placing this additional order for the A321 to meet demand on some of our most popular routes.”
VietJet Air operates 25 A320 family aircraft. It also has more than 60 A320 family aircraft on order and purchase rights for another 30 aircraft, Flightglobal's Ascend Fleets shows.
