The air traffic control systems in several central and eastern European nations are to be upgraded, it was announced Monday.
Northrop Grumman subsidiary Park Air Systems is to provide a variety of services in countries including Romania, Croatia, Hungary, and Latvia under contracts worth around $15 million. The company already has ATC experience in the UK and Norway.

“The company’s communications, navigation and surveillance capabilities will enhance air traffic control throughout the region,” says Charles Houseago, managing director of Northrop Grumman Park Air Services. Several of the contracts were awarded earlier this year but have not been publicised. They include installation of the company’s NOVA 9000 advanced surface movement guidance and control systems at Budapest’s Ferihegy airport and Riga International Airport,
Latvia.
