* Distribution services and composite materials provider UMECO has appointed John Smith, currently managing director of AEM, divisional chief executive of its repair and overhaul division. Graham Preston, currently commercial director of AEM, will succeed him as managing director, while Sue Holden, operations manager at AEM Stansted, will take over as AEM's commercial director.
* Fly BN has appointed Malcolm Cox managing director. Cox previously worked at FLS Aerospace.
* Banyan Air Service has appointed Lynn Juengel technical services manager.
* Flybe has named Jim French chairman in addition to his role as managing director, following the retirement of David Brown, who will remain a non-executive director.
* Lufthansa Technik's board has reappointed chief executive finance Peter Jansen for the next five years. He has served on the board since 2001.
