PHILIPPINE AEROSPACE Development (PADC) has received an initial allocation of 50 million pesos ($2 million) of Government finance for the development of a small utility transport, says Jesus Garcia, the Secretary of Transportation and Communications. Detailed engineering studies are under way, with design to be finalised during 1996. Construction could start in 1997.

PADC president Prudencio Reyes reveals that studies are focusing on a 2,250kg twin-engine aircraft, with a typical range of 925km (500nm) and a cruising altitude of 10,000ft (3,000m). It would seat five to seven passengers or carry up to 680kg of cargo.
