Lessor GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS) has delivered Azul’s first Airbus A320neo.
The aircraft, registered PR-YRA, is powered by CFM International Leap 1-A engines, and is the first of eight that will be delivered to Azul by GECAS by end-2019. The A320neo is configured with 174 seats and will enter into service in the coming months, says the Brazilian carrier.
Azul has orders for an additional 52 A320neos and 10 A321neos, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
The airline announced the order in 2014. In addition to the eight aircraft leased from GECAS, it is purchasing 35 aircraft directly from Airbus and leasing another 20 from AerCap.
