Lockheed Martin and Alenia Marconi Systems are studying joint development of an S/C-band active-array radar for warships. The four-month feasibility study will identify a basic configuration for a single-faced rotating phased-array radar aimed at domestic and export applications. The companies will explore the feasibility of a four-fixed-face active-array radar for naval anti-air warfare and theatre ballistic-missile defence missions.
