Raytheon Aircraft has agreed to remarket 15 Beech 1900D turboprops operated by cash-strapped Mesa Air Group. The airline will receive an immediate $5 million payment for the aircraft. Raytheon will also reduce the terms of the purchase of the last of the aircraft acquired by Mesa.

Raytheon is putting the 1900Ds on the market immediately. The manufacturer will also buy $5 million worth of surplus spare parts from Mesa, and credit the airline with $5 million against future parts purchases. Mesa has already sold 12 excess 1900Ds to Great Lakes Aviation.

Mesa, which is now under new management headed by ex-Virgin Express boss Jonathan Orstein, lost $4.4 million in the third quarter, primarily through problems experienced with its Florida-based regional airline division.
