After warning that it could shed 500 of its 3,000 employees, maintenance provider SR Technics has reached a deal with unions that will see a fewer number of jobs go.

The company says it has saved 100 jobs by pushing through a 4.8% pay cut, and 400 staff at most will be made redundant. Salary cuts will be reversed by the end of 2004, as will a reduction in the working week.
