Gulf Aircraft Maintenance (Gamco) is set to increase hangar capacity by 30% during the next 18 months. The company, which has posted revenues of 1.3 billion dirhams ($355 million) for 2005, compared with 1.1 billion dirhams for the year 2004, and a net profit of 88 million dirhams – a record 105% year-on-year increase – is also introducing capabilities to cater for new product lines, the immediate one being the Boeing 777-300ER, says chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan. “The year 2006 is and will continue to be a busy one for Gamco, preparing for the entries for new types of aircraft including the Airbus A340-500 and A340-600 as well as the A380, in the following year.”
