Taiwan’s Aviation Safety Council is investigating a runway excursion involving an ATR 72-600 aircraft operated by Mandarin Airlines.
An image on the ASC's website shows that the aircraft suffered extensive damage to the underside of its fuselage, apparently from colliding with runway lights.
The accident occurred on Wednesday 22 August as the aircraft (registered B-16852) operated flight AE788 from Magong to Taichung. The excursion occurred when the aircraft landed on runway 36 at Taichung airport at 19:30 local time.
None of the 70 passengers or four crew aboard the aircraft were injured. The ASC has retrieved both the flight data and cockpit voice recorders.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the aircraft bears MSN 1387 and is managed by Singapore lessor Avation. It was delivered new to Avation June 2017, and has operated with Mandarin since December 2017.
