French avionics specialist Sagem and Germany's STN Atlas Elektronik have agreed to make their unmanned air vehicle systems compatible. The agreement comes less than two weeks after France announced it was launching a European collaboration programme to develop an unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) demonstrator (Flight International, 24-30 June). Sagem says STN Atlas's Taifun UAV is the "most advanced in Europe" and that collaboration with the German company "will help open markets for our UAV joint venture with Dassault".
