Société Européene des Satellites (SES), the Luxembourg-based operator of Astra TV satellites, is to purchase a 20% stake in the satellite unit of Brazil's Embratel to develop its business in the Latin American broadband market. SES will also buy 50% of Nordic Satellites for $116 million to assist in spreading SES's services to the Baltic states and parts of eastern Europe.
