Maintenance company SR Technics plans to make further acquisitions following its recent announcement that it will set up an independent spare parts business at London Stansted airport. Chief executive Hans Ulrich Beyeler says: "Asia is our first focal point outside the European Union, followed by the USA. We are watching the situation in the USA very carefully because it may provide an opportunity." The company could also look towards South America for growth opportunities in the longer term, he adds. In the meantime, SR Technics will move its Airbus spare parts business from Zurich to Stansted, where its Boeing spare parts are located, to create a "freestanding component asset management services business".
