Singapore Airlines (SIA) has appointed a new president at its subsidiary SIA Cargo.
Tan Kai Ping will take over as president from 1 March, replacing Goh Choon Phong.
Tan joined SIA in 1995, and has held various senior positions in the airline's cargo division before he was seconded to be president of Shanghai-based associate Great Wall Airlines in 2005, says SIA.
He returned to SIA Cargo in October 2008 as senior vice-president operations, adds the carrier.
Goh, who has been the president of SIA Cargo since 2006, will return to the parent airline as executive vice president (designate) for marketing and the sales regions, says SIA.
He will take over from Huang Cheng Eng, who retires in June.
SIA Cargo posted an operating profit of S$40 million ($28 million) in its fiscal third quarter ending 31 December 2009.
SIA has said that while the the cargo market has started to recovery, the situation is more tentative because of the excess freighter capacity, and the unidirectional nature of cargo flows.
