Singapore Airlines (SIA) has signed an agreement with Hamilton Sundstrand covering maintenance support for the auxiliary power units of its Airbus A380s.
Hamilton Sundstrand says in a statement that its Power Systems division will provide spares support for up to 17 years under a deal that includes an asset management plan for the Pratt & Whitney Canada/Hamilton Sundstrand PW980 auxiliary power units.
“Under the terms of this agreement, Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems will perform all necessary shop maintenance as well as provide the spares support for the fleet for a period of up to 17 years,” it says.
SIA is to be the first operator of the A380, 19 of which it has on firm order. The first is due to be delivered early next week and it will enter service later this month.
