Sichuan Airlines has awarded a contract to the UK-based unit of L-3 Link Simulation & Training to build and deliver an Airbus A320 full flight simulator (FFS) to Airbus standard 1.8.
The A320 FFS, which will be installed in Chengdu, will be ready for training during the fourth quarter of 2013. This will be the third A320 FFS that L-3 Link will deliver to Sichuan Airlines.
Separately, L-3 Link's unit in Crawley, UK, has opened a customer support centre in China that will provide simulator spare parts and logistics services. L-3 says this will help ensure simulator availability.
