China Southern Airlines and Vietnam Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement covering flights between Guangzhou and Ho Chi Minh City. Guangzhou-based China Southern says the agreement marks its first co-operative link with a Southeast Asian carrier.

Both airlines operate on the Guangzhou-Ho Chi Minh City route, China Southern with three flights weekly and Vietnam Airlines with two. China Southern says each carrier has agreed to sell 120 seats per week on the other¹s flights. It adds that since 1998 its market share in the China-Vietnam market has increased steadily.
