BBA Aviation Services is to launch an e-commerce portal for customers of its Signature Flight Support chain of US fixed-base operations (FBOs) in the first quarter of next year.

The portal will allow trip planning to be performed on-line and enable Signature customers to reserve FBO services such as fuelling, hangaring, hotels and car rental. The company, part of the UK's BBA Group, plans to later add services and extend its geographical coverage.

In addition to Signature, which includes the former AMR Combs FBOs acquired last year, BBA has an expanding network of non-US locations. Earlier this year, the company bought Lynton Aviation, Osprey Aviation and Oxford Aviation in the UK. Last month, BBA agreed to acquire a 15% stake in the FBO and maintenance side of Brazil's Lider, with the option to increase its holding to 50%. Recent acquisitions boosted BBA Aviation Services' revenues 30% in the first half of the year compared with last year, while organic growth was "strong" at 9%, BBA says.
