Dubai-based Eastern SkyJets, which has just received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC), is using the show to launch the company and its fresh approach to the region’s aircraft charter market.
Group business director Tariq Khan says the company now plans to add more aircraft to its fleet, which currently consists of a McDonnell Douglas DC-9 and a Cessna Citation Eagle and has been involved in extensive talks with manufacturers present at the show.
Plans include introducing an additional aircraft to expand its CIP (Corporate Important Person) business and also a larger type to supplement its DC-9 on passenger operations.
“We want to encourage a fresh approach to private flying and want to make private air travel more accessible to everyone and not just the rich and famous. In particular, we want to target corporate executives.”
Khan says that the introduction of a new private jet leisure flight has also received an enthusiastic response from the regional leisure industry.
The leisure flight is a low level aerial sightseeing tour of Dubai which offers spectacular views of sights like the Dubai Marina and The Palms. A range of other regional sightseeing tours are also offered.
The company also operates extensively to Iraq and Afghanistan and specialises in difficult missions.
