Snecma

Snecma-logoSnecma, a SAFRAN Group company, designs, develops and produces engines for civil and military aircraft, launch vehicles and satellites, either alone or in partnership. The company is organized in three divisions.

Commercial Engines

Snecma and General Electric team up to produce the best-selling family of CFM56 turbofans, and Snecma is a partner to General Electric on several large turbofans, the CF6, GE90 and GP7200.

We are also developing our presence in the regional aviation market through the SaM146, produced in conjunction with Russian engine manufacturer NPO Saturn.

The business aviation market is enjoying very strong growth, driven by sustained demand and the development of new aircraft slated to enter service starting in 2010. Snecma is seeking to establish a position in this booming market, with a new generation of engines branded Silvercrest.

Military Engines

Design, development, production, sale and support of jet engines for combat and training aircraft, as well as turboprop engines for military transports. Snecma engines power over 20 different types of military planes in nearly 40 countries. Our flagship products include the M53-P2 for the Mirage 2000, the M88-2 for the Rafale, and the TP400-D6 for the upcoming Airbus A400M transport.

Space Engines

Snecma, the lead propulsion company for Europe’s Ariane launcher, develops and produces propulsion systems and equipment for launchers and satellites.
