The Snecma/Turboméca Larzac 04-C20 turbofan powers the Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet trainer, while the 04-R20 version was selected in 1992 for the Mikoyan MiG-AT advanced trainer.

Snecma is now studying ways to increase the thrust of the R-20 engine to improve the performance of the Russian MiG-AT advanced trainer, which was flown for the first time in March.

The Larzac is a twin-shaft turbofan with an axial two-stage low-pressure compressor, axial four-stage high-pressure (HP) compressor, annular combustor and single-stage HP turbine.
